Why Fun Uncle you ask? Every family has an uncle who is the big kid, the one who has the crazy jokes, plays games and fun and laughter follows him whenever he walks in to the room. This family member generally has the ability to make others feel special, pick you up when you fall and make family occasions a bunch of fun. He is the one everyone wishes they were or wishes they had in their family.
Growing up, Paul idolised his grandad. From sitting down to watch a full day of test cricket, to helping him feed his pet birds to walking the dogs on the beach…. he looked forward to holidays and spending time with Grandad Charlie. The life lessons that were being passed on, albeit unknown to him at the time, would shape his future purpose and direction.
Grandad Charlie and his Thongs was written in the 25minute Citycat ferry ride from Bulimba to Riverside (in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) on the way in to work one morning. Starting a list of people who he was grateful for, Paul placed Grandad Charlie’s name at the top of the page and the story flowed. By the time he had reached work the story of Grandad Charlie was done and a legacy had been started.
Paul now also has a desire to help others facing challenges, whether it be by raising funds, awareness or leveraging his connections to help them get the results they want.
