Growing up was a special time filled with adventure. We would go on our annual holidays to the beach where we would spend our time swimming, baking cookies with grandma and allowing mum and dad to rest and relax. It also gave us the opportunity to listen to Grandad’s stories… and he had a lot of them and he was a great story teller. The best thing was that his stories had a meaning or life lesson…. generally, about helping others and making do with the little you had. Oh and they were always delivered with a cheeky grin and a slight chuckle.
